Phew--It's Still May 25th in North America

Rob MacDougall's gracious refusal to enjoy the privileges of the Mostly Harmless author function, Old Is the New Hope, reminds me that I technically still have time to finish my own contribution to the Star Wars' 30th Anniversary Blog-a-thon. Be back soon!

[Update 5/30/07: All right, who died and got May 25th declared Towel Day?]

I will never be able to suspend my disbelief sufficiently to consider that Natalie Portman would ever be glaringly ugly enough to birth a daughter such as Carrie Fischer. Perhaps that is because i also can't get past: aliens speaking ebonics or Fin de siècle mandarin english, a syntactically-challenged reptilian teddy bear, massively powered hand-held lasers that have seemingly random fluctuating cutting foci (over three feet long??), and other too stupid to be reasonable decisions by the director. Maybe the one thing he got right was that Jabba the Hutt was a ringer for the former head of GM???

hee hee, perhaps then, spyder, if my LPGA blogging isn't enough to get the taste of Lucas out of your brain, you might try this brief history of otaku culture in Japan....
