pre-historic golf

For all you golfers and WAAGNFNP loyalists here's proof that prehistoric man played golf long before he watched TV:

And here he is, doin' the Tiger under the watchful eye of the ultimate ur-golfer:

Yes, "3Tops" basically describes the average hacker's game.

As a kids we made a number of "miniature" golf course in the various vacant lots around my house. I think the Bergen Tunnel/Erie Cut area is ripe for some kind of new urban scabland golf adventure course - sort of a large scale putt-putt with unique and interesting hazrds, and you have free and changing artwork thrown in for free.

It is patently unfair that the Giant Floating Head one can influence the flight of his ball in the air. Jumping in the wayback machine (hello Sherman) i recall my formative years slaving away at the Deauville Country Club (currently called the Braemar CC. Prior to the later subsequent development of the East Course and the multitude of gated developments strewn carelessly across the landscape, the driving range there was essentially a large canyon. The tees up on the bluff, allowed you to blast away into space, giving all new meaning to hooks and slices. The snake hazards were prevalent as well, but at least they graded the bottom of the canyon to make it easier to retrieve the balls that ran down the scree on the opposite side (this helped you actually as several holes on the course {before re-design} which carried across small canyon).

Bill Benzon??? In one avataric manifestation he is the Minister of Visual Propaganda for the We Are All Giant Nuclear Fireball Party Now quasi-secret, multi-dimensional organization; for whom the photo of 3Tops (in lower image) accompanied by the most enlightened and illuminated, floating-head Chairman-for-Life, is the most sublime of mysteries.
