Good to See the Mostly Harmless Jinx Retains Its Sense of Humor

So one of the images I showed during my brown bag luncheon talk on my Fulbright year yesterday was the view from my office on the one day snow stuck all winter in Fukuoka (for all of a half-hour). It will come to no surprise to regular readers of Mostly Harmless, then, that we woke up this morning to our first snow of the year in Dunkirk and Fredonia. Or that it just started snowing here again as I type this, after having stopped for a couple of hours. That is all.

so what do the kids think of the snow?

nothing even remotely close to snow here in new jersey . . . but some new superheros are in training, from the Planet Kukamonga, no less

Planet Kukamonga?? Isn't that part of the same solar system that includes Anaheim and Azuza???? Speaking not of which i am heading down the Santa Fe trail ways, into the great snoring beyond. Getting out of this cold rain and snow for few days before i have to go to Boston.

it's our first winter storm of the season! yay! maybe we'll get to make a snowman tomorrow, before I have to go on campus (looks like it won't be close to bad enough to close the place)....

spyder, you should see Scott's attempt at Acephalous to convince webby voters his blog is the same as North-Running Stream, if you haven't already. quite apropos for your pre-Boston hike....

And you know what's on Planet Anaheim don't you? Angels, a cathedral, and lots of people dressed up in funny costumes acting out the fantasies of a crazy old man who lived in a firehouse.

1st winter storm not living up to its billing--more Fukuoka-like than Fredonia-like. no yuki daruma for the girls this time, unless there's a big change in the next 36 hours. too bad!
