Now if i could just get a good digital camera i could offer some images to the collection. I own a handful of Japanese Buddha figures made between 1878 to 1940, and some are quite striking and unique. I definitely bookmarked the page; thanks for the heads-up.

Well, you could ship them to me and I'd be glad to photograph them. :)

As for "good digital camera," there are scads of them. It all depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. What "digital" means is that, as time goes one, you get more and more functionality for less and less money, just like computers. You can spend $100 or $200 dollars and get a very nice digital camera. You can also spend $4 or $5K and get a very nice digital camera.

I've got two digital cameras. One cost me $250 three years ago. I don't use it much any more, but I took some very fine pictures with it. The other cost me $600+ a year ago and is a much better camera. I take most of my pictures with it. I'm not sure I'd know what to do with a $3K camera.

But I'm guessing that if you really want to get into the 1000 Buddhas game, your skill is more important than the cost of the camera. Spend less than $

Spend less than $500 on a camera and have some fun with it. If that doesn't get you in the game, $5K won't do it either.
