Per hole, the JLPGA may be a richer tour than the LPGA next season. This fewer holes/more tournaments thing may have something to it....The Constructivisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07242149985581771922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1198629951037494295.post-46583769942559162632009-09-29T19:39:19.760-04:002009-09-29T19:39:19.760-04:00CG, Momo-chan has been remarking on the difference...CG, Momo-chan has been remarking on the differences between the JLPGA and LPGA, not lobbying for the LPGA to become more like the JLPGA! I noted it because it's easily overlooked, or at least its significance usually is. Certainly helps explain why Shin hasn't been as dominant this season as I thought she'd be.The Constructivisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07242149985581771922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1198629951037494295.post-30174334699166621422009-09-29T12:12:28.530-04:002009-09-29T12:12:28.530-04:00The Constructivist - Hey, It Is Tough Out There

Women just aren't built for the long haul like men ? :-)

The WTA still only has one 5 set final for the women and it is always a snoozer. (nobody in their right mind wants to watch cross court rallies with no aggression for 3 hours)(and think of the possible larynx damage to some of the screamers !!) :-) Face it, women's tennis majors are easier than playing two consecutive regular weeks on tour. No travel, and a day off for shopping between the same matches you play all year.

Now 72 holes is too much. The LPGA used to play 54 holes exclusively except for majors.

Women have proven a lot of those old theories about women and sports wrong. Women weren't allowed to run more than a half mile in track for fear of giving them the vapors or damaging their reproductive systems.

Does Ueda's idea that women can't play 72 hole tournaments without a lot of injuries hold water ?

Injuries are a part of any sport. The men are just as banged up - but the top men are strong enough to play through most of them. Women don't have the same muscle mass as men, so they develop clubhead speed differently than men. Women use flexibility and whip more than strength.

It's an interesting complaint. I wonder if someone will start a study for the theory. They could probably only get $10 or $20 million from the government. (oh wait - those are taxpayer dollars - I vote no) :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
