Momoko Got it Done, in Tournament Twenty-One. Lorena Ochoa Invitational Preview

Congratulations go out this week to Momoko Ueda for winning the Mizuno Classic.  It was her first career win as an LPGA member. For more details see Bangkokbobby and The Constructivist.

The LPGA moves from Asia to Mexico this week with the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.
Here are some details:

Course: Guadalajara County Club
Location: Guadalajara, Mexico
Defending Champion: I.K. Kim
2011 Winning Score: 69-68-68-64=269 (-19)

Final Field: 36 Players
Par: 72
Yardage: 6644
Purse: $1 Million

You may recall that this is the tournament where I.K. Kim gave away her entire winning purse to charity last year. Among the players not participating this week include Na Yeon Choi, Jiyai Shin, Song Hee Kim, Inbee Park, Sun Young Yoo, and Karrie Webb.

The Titleholders Championship:
Qualifying this past weekend were Momoko Ueda, Pornanong Phatlum, and Christina Kim.

There are only 3 women in this week's field that have not yet qualified. They are Juli Inkster, Beatriz Recari, and Natalie Gulbis. All they will have to do is finish the tournament to get in.

Momoko Ueda moves from #81 to #54.

Battle for 2012 Sybase Match Play spots:
There was some very big moves this week, but none bigger than Momoko Ueda, who moved from outside the top 48 on the money list to #33. She now has a spot wrapped up.

Here are the ladies who are still fighting for one of the 48 automatic spots.

The only player on the above list playing this week is Natalie Gulbis. Since she got in as a sponsor's exemption, the money she earns will not be official money, and will not count towards Sybase. It will all come down to the final event the following week.
