I do like the format of having all these worldwide qualifiers as long as the field strength is up to standard. I think all Majors should strive to have the best of the best players playing especially the U.S Woman's Open which I regard as the top Major for the year. There should be no special invites with a field of around 153 (2013). How do players like Nelly Korda pop up at Majors?
Just on the U.S Woman's Open I see Lydia was back with Steve Kay on the bag last week but I was talking with N.Z Golf and put it to IMG her management about the possibility of Steve Williams staying on after the U.S Open to caddy for her. Be great to see the two Kiwis together before he retires and Adam Scott does not need him the following week. Either way I'm sure we will see two weeks of great golf at Pinehurst No2 maybe even without Tiger.

Nelly Korda qualified for last year's US Women's Open the same way as these players did. She was actually the medalist at her qualifier last year. You calling her out specifically with the subtext of nepotism is unwarranted, and uncalled for. The Kraft has a history of inviting the world's best amateur players, and I think that's wonderful, and should continue.

We should make mention that the Half Moon Bay qualified Lucy Li, is only 11 years old, and will almost likely be the youngest competitor in the field. There is a 9 year old competing in the last qualifier though. ;)
