No time for more than a quick heads-up on the status of the morning groups in the 1st round of the Bell Micro LPGA Classic.
Well, for one other thing. Do yourself a favor and read the tributes to Erica Blasberg by Lisa Mickey and to Irene Cho from Shane Bacon. Really powerful, moving stuff.
So in the morning pairings, rookie Azahara Munoz's 65 sticks out--and not just because she was playing with Cho, Blasberg's best friend on tour who fired a gutty 69, or because she ended up 3 shots better than #4-ranked Suzann Pettersen, 4 shots ahead of #9-ranked Na Yeon Choi, and 5 free of jet-lagged and #1/#2 players in the world of women's golf, Ji-Yai Shin and Ai Miyazato. Nope, it's because Munoz has the talent and is gaining the confidence to make this year's Rookie of the Year race exciting. With the leader in that race Amanda Blumenherst -3 through her 1st 6 holes already in the afternoon, it's looking like it's going to be heating up this week down South!
