Yesterday I got enthusiastic about the chance that the #1 and #2 career money winners in JLPGA history would have a Sunday showdown in the Meiji Chocolate Cup while the best players of the last couple of years were trying their best to survive Oakmont. Well, Billion-Yen Woman Yuri Fudoh held up her end of the deal, firing a bogey-free 67 to climb to -8. But yesterday's leader Akiko Fukushima had a bad day and fell 5 shots behind her. There are a good number of players between them, but I'm not sure if any among them has the game, experience, or attitude to chase Fudoh down tomorrow. It would be a big deal if anyone did, as it would be if Ji-Hee Lee or Ayako Uehara or Fukushima herself were to get in the mix.
