...at least on the KLPGA, which kicked off its 2009 season with the China Orient Ladies Open last weekend. 2008 Rookie of the Year Hye Yong Choi went 65-71-69 for a 3-shot victory over 6-time winner "last" season Hee Kyung Seo. Shanshan Feng was the best Chinese player in the field, finishing 7 shots back in 5th place, but 1 ahead of Ha Neul Kim and 3 ahead of So Yeon Ryu.
2 immediate conclusions present themselves from these results: Feng is for real and likely to start the 2009 LPGA season well; the kids in the KLPGA are going to be all right in the post-Ji Yai Shin era.
