Off to France They Go, Playing for Lots of Dough

The LPGA Tour moves to Europe this week with the playing of the Evian Masters. Although this is not an LPGA Major Championship, it has the biggest (tied with the U.S. Open) purse of the year. Here are some of the details:

Course: Evian Masters Golf Club
Where: Evian-les-Bains, France
Defending Champion: Jiyai Shin
2010 Winning Score = 70-69-68-67=274 (-14)

Field: 112 Players
Par: 72
Yardage: 6,344
Purse: 3.25 Million

This tournament will have one of the strongest fields of the year as all of the top LPGA players will be there, plus some of the biggest international stars:

Here is a list of the highest-ranked international stars who will be teeing it up:

So-Yeon Ryu
Yuri Fudoh
Yukari Baba
Melissa Reid
Ayako Uehara
Hiromi Mogi

Here is the television schedule:
Jul 21 6:30-8:30 PM ET GC
Jul 22 6:30-8:30 PM ET GC
Jul 23 1:00-4:00 PM ET GC
Jul 24 1:00-4:00 PM ET GC

Unlike the the Women's British Open the following week which ESPN will be covering live, the Golf Channel's coverage of Evian will all be tape delayed. If you are planning to watch this, I would advise you not to check the scoring on any of the internet sites as they will have published the results long before the TV airing.
