On one side: the national champion UCLA Bruins. On the other: the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The venue: the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links. UCLA's Brianna Do has knocked off 2 former USGA champions--2006 U.S. Girls champion Kristen Park and defending champion Emily Tubert--on her way to a quarterfinals showdown with teammate Stephanie Kono. Their fellow teammate Tiffany Lua faces off against UVA's Brittany Altomare, while Lee Lopez and Ani Gulugian lost in earlier rounds. Meanwhile, the Wake Forest duo of Cheyenne Woods and Marissa Dodd also moved into the Elite 8. Woods faces Annie Park, who knocked off Julie Yang (who went to school in Scotland), and Dodd faces Sally Watson (who's from Scotland). Let's see which NCAA powerhouse has more players in the final 4! It's hard for me to root against Park, a NYer, but I'd love to see Cheyenne keep rolling....
