Paola Moreno was -4 for her 12 holes today and -9 through 24 in the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, which was good enough to get her past Lindsey Wright, who birdied 7 of her 12 holes to move to -8. But with Eun-Hee Ji and Julieta Granada lurking 2 behind Moreno, Cristie Kerr, Hee Kyung Seo, Anna Nordqvist, Hee Young Park, Ilhee Lee, Mina Harigae, and 1st-round tri-leader Heather Bowie Young 3 back, and a total of 33 golfers within 5 shots of the lead, Moreno and Wright will have to keep the pedal to the metal tomorrow to avoid being passed by their lead chase pack. Among those hoping to get hot tomorrow include Na Yeon Choi, Suzann Pettersen, Paula Creamer, Jessica Korda, Morgan Pressel, and Mika Miyazato at -5 and Stacy Lewis, Ai Miyazato, Azahara Munoz, Lexi Thompson, Caroline Hedwall, and Sun Young Yoo at -4.
Other top golfers aren't faring nearly so well in these Atlantean conditions. Inbee Park's right hand must still be bothering her, as she's +7, 1 shot ahead of Brittany Lincicome, while Chie Arimura at +3 and Yani Tseng at +1 aren't doing much better. But this is one of those tournaments where you're either on or you're not and there's not much time to turn things around. With 5 par 3s and 2 par 5s among the 12 holes being played, however, there are opportunities for those who can dial in their irons tomorrow. Should be an exciting finish!
