The final field for the Wegmans LPGA Championship has been released. So who's in? Every active player with 7 or more LPGA wins except Helen Alfredsson and Liselotte Neuman. Every rookie Tony Jesselli just graded except Kimberly Kim, Sara Brown, Alison Whitaker, Shasta Averyhardt, Stephanie Kim, Jodi Ewart, and Caroline Hedwall. And everyone else you'd expect (including Inbee Park and Teresa Lu, who are playing in the Nichirei Ladies on the JLPGA this week), along with JLPGA star Chie Arimura, U.S. Women's Amateur champion Danielle Kang, and sponsor exemption Lexi Thompson (plus Teaching and Club Professionals Sue Ginter, Karen Davies, Debbi Koyama, Julie Hennessy, Lisa DePaulo, and Annette DeLuca). While I would have loved to see Sakura Yokomine return to Rochester this year and wish Shiho Oyama's recovery from elbow surgery was far enough along for her to begin playing on the LPGA again instead of exclusively on the JLPGA, the field has pretty much everything pretty much anyone could ask for.
[Update 1 (6:50 am): Just read on the Seoul Sisters.com 2011 U.S. Women's Open thread that rookie Jennifer Song is in from the alternates list!]
[Update 2 (7:11 am): It's major week on the Futures Tour, and that's where you can find rookies Averyhardt, Ewart, Joh, Stephanie Kim, O'Toole, and Whitaker. For Joh and O'Toole, it's a tune-up for Pittsford!]
