Resort Trust Ladies Overview: Mi-Jeong Jeon Gets 18th Career JLPGA Victory

Mi-Jeong Jeon was too much for the rest of the field this week in Nagano, as she went 65-68-69 to take the Resort Trust Ladies by 3 shots over Ji-Hee Lee, 4 over Mihoko Iseri, and 5 over Ritsuko Ryu and Soo-Yun Kang.  Bo-Bae Song was only 1 shot off the lead after 36 holes, but stumbled home with a final-round 80 to almost fall entirely out of the top 20.  Defending champion Sakura Yokomine was never a factor, finishing barely in the top 30, while money title queen for the past 2 seasons Sun-Ju Ahn missed the top 10 by a shot when she bogeyed her 54th hole. 

For Jeon, her 18th career JLPGA victory moved her to the top of the 2012 money list.  The other big movers up the list included Lee, who leapfrogged Ahn into 2nd, Miki Saiki, who sneaked into the top 10, Kang, who moved up to 17th, and Shinobu Moromizato, whose final-round 67 helped move her into the top 25.

Next up is the Suntory Ladies Open, which goes opposite the LPGA's 2nd major of 2012, the Wegmans LPGA Championship, so Sun-Ju Ahn will only have to defend her title against the best of the JLPGA's regulars.  Should be quite a challenge nevertheless!
