Laura Davies, Ariya Jutanugarn, Charley Hull in Hunt in Morocco!

Even though most non-LET members are not prioritizing the tour's Morocco stop anywhere close to as highly as its Melee at Mission Hills, the 1st-round leaderboard for the Lalla Meryem Cup is pretty impressive, with Rebecca Hudson and Sophie Walker of England leading Sophie Giquel-Bettan by 1 shot and an impressive array of players who are 2 behind, including living legend Laura Davies, defending champion Ariya Jutanugarn, and her fellow young gun Charley Hull.  Veteran Gwladys Nocera and rookie Nobuhle Dlamini lead the group who are 3 behind the co-leaders, while Carin Koch, Lee-Anne Pace, and Stacey Keating headline the bunch who are 4 off the pace.

Their scores are even more impressive when you consider that Q-School medalist Caroline Martens opened with an 81, Sarah Kemp and Carly Booth with 76s, Sophie Gustafson and Minea Blomqvist with 74s, and Nontaya Srisawang with a 73.  Of course, just noting that Jutanugarn made a double and a triple on the back and still shot a 68 (thanks to 10 birdies!) or that Hull got on a 4-hole birdie train is impressive enough for me!
