Kraft Nabisco Championship Pairings: This Is What It's All About!

Finally, a tournament takes an approach to its player pairings that I can enthusiastically endorse. Kudos to the Kraft Nabisco Championship organizers!

Check out the prime-time pairings off the back in the morning:

Start Time: 9:13 AM
Christina Kim
Stacy Prammanasudh

Start Time: 9:21 AM
Annika Sorenstam
Mi Hyun Kim

Start Time: 9:29 AM
Lorena Ochoa
Morgan Pressel

And the early afternoon groups off the front ain't too shabby, either:

Start Time: 12:00 PM
Karrie Webb
Natalie Gulbis

Start Time: 12:08 PM
Paula Creamer
Suzann Pettersen

Start Time: 12:16 PM
Angela Park
Cristie Kerr

But the real genius of the tournament organizers lies in how they handled the rest of the pairings. Off #1, highlights include Jane Park and Amy Alcott (8:25 am), Brittany Lincicome and Grace Park (12:24 pm), Se Ri Pak and Laura Diaz (12:32 pm), and Angela Stanford and Catriona Matthew (12:40 pm), but just about every group features a veteran with a young gun or two young guns from different countries or tours. Off #10, highlights include Juli Inkster and Laura Davies (8:57 am), Hee-Won Han and Rachel Hetherington (12:00 pm), Jeong Jang and Jee Young Lee (12:08 pm), and Ai Miyazato and Seon Hwa Lee (12:32 pm), but there are many other neat pairings. I particularly like the idea of putting together struggling former Super Sophs like H.J. Choi and Kyeong Bae (7:53 am) and Julieta Granada and Meaghan Francella (12:16 pm).

In fact, there's something interesting to be noted about most every pairing. Which stand out to you?
