Mayu Hattori made her 1st bogey of the day yesterday at the Stanley Ladies on the long par-4 14th, but she shrugged it off and went on a 4-hole birdie train to close out her round--part of a run that included 6 birdies in her last 9 holes--to take a 1-shot lead on Satsuki Oshiro. In so doing, the 4-time winner on the JLPGA snapped a 7-tournament streak without a single sub-70 round. At -7, she has a 4-shot lead on money-list leader Rikako Morita and #3 Sakura Yokomine, while the visiting Momoko Ueda is 5 back, tied with 2 amateurs, Haruka Morita and Asuka Kashiwabara, and 2 Koreans, Na-Ri Lee and Soo-Yun Kang.
The 2nd round's already started and Harukyo Nomura is making a run. More on how Hattori responds later!
[Update 1 (12:38 am): Meanwhile, Bo-Mee Lee and Mi-Jeong Jeon are chasing Hee Kyung Seo and Ha Na Jang over at the KLPGA's 3rd major of the season.]
