A Nice Day to Be a Lee (or Crea or Miy)

Taking my title from spyder's excellent live blogging in the comments on the last Mostly Harmless LPGA post, I'm giving you a link to the leaderboard and the interviews from moving day at Kingsmill. Congrats to Jee Young Lee (-11), who joins her friend Sarah Lee (-10) in the final group Sunday and as holder of the Kingsmill course record (63). Congrats to Ai Miyazato, Paula Creamer, Meena Lee, who join Carin Koch and Suzann Pettersen at -7 and have a legitimate shot at a win. Congrats to Seon Hwa Lee, whose 66 pulled her even with Morgan Pressel and Becky Morgan at -6 in "stranger things have happened" land. Note the 4 Super Sophs and 3 Euros in the top 10 and consider whether the Mostly Harmless 100 Yen Crystal Ball is finally starting to justify its cost. So here's a prediction for tomorrow: with the pins, as Paula Creamer points out in interviews, in tough spots on Sunday, the feast or famine syndrome of the first three days will be accentuated. But it's very difficult to put three good rounds in a row together on this course this year, which means the odds are against Paula, Carin, Seon Hwa, and Meena. That leaves the Paired Morgans, Pettersen, and Miyazato with the best chance to shoot a 67 or below and catch the leading Lees. So I predict the winner will be Ai-chan at -12.

Here are the pairings for Sunday--note Moira Dunn gets to play alone first, finish in 3 hours, and get out of last place (if you can't play well when you're playing alone and nothing's at stake, it's time for a vacation!). Hey, maybe she can pass Laura Davies and a bunch of rookies and actually move up the money list by the end of the day. It's good to have goals, even when you're in last place.
